PATs tomorrow!
Hi everyone,
I've never made a formal post here or anything, but I do read this forum everyday and I've learned so much from everyone. I also attend the Barix support group meetings, so some of you may know me. I'm Jackie and my surgery (RNY) is scheduled December 1 and tomorrow I go in for my pre-admission tests.
I hope everything goes well so that I can have my surgery when it's scheduled, so please keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

I attend most post-op meeting at Barix but don't think we have met formally but make sure that you introduce yourself to me when I am there. I would love to get to know you better and hopefully answer some of your questions you might still have. I wish you much luck with your PATS and will pray that everything goes well for you. It's great that your surgery is scheduled already I will move over to make room on the loser's bench.

I went to the last Saturday support group meeting, but I don't think I saw you. I think I would have recognized you from your OH picture (I've read your posts before
). I have only gone to pre-op meetings up until now, so maybe I'll see you at the next Saturday or post-op one!
Everything went well today, thanks for the good wishes! I found out the day after my birthday (Sept. 7) when my surgery was, so by now I feel like I've been waiting forever because I'm anxious for it!

Boy, I remember the excitement and nervousness I had before PAT's! It seems like a lifetime ago. I am 18 months out and I have lost 130+ lbs since my surgery. You are in GREAT hands with the peeps at Barix. Our support group is THE BEST!! There are so many great people who are so willing to give advice, support and love. Make sure you continue with the support! You will need it!! This journey is filled with lots of ups and downs, but I would say MORE ups than downs!! I have made so many friends through the support group and here on OH! Just make sure that you follow the drs instructions!!
I hope you will be at the support meeting tonight. My name is Beth Vohl so you can say hello if you want!! Just because it is a post op meeting doesn't mean that it is just for post ops. Many pre ops come as well!!

Wow, you are doing great with your weight loss! I hope to be as successful as you! The PATs went great today and everyone was very friendly and made me laugh. One nurse even went out of her way to talk to the PATs doctor about something for me and I appreciated it so much.
I didn't realize that pre-ops could go to the post-op meetings, I might have gone before. I couldn't make it tonight but hopefully I'll see you at the next Saturday or post-op meeting!
